Sweet Orca #91401 April 2020

Sweet Orca #91401 was a bit of a project! He was severely matted when brought into Manhattan ACC after being found in a park tied to a fence. Thanks to Dog Guy Foundation I was able to tackle that project.
He allowed me to shave some of the inch/inch & a half thick matts but was then getting anxious and it was very slow going. Step in volunteer dog walker and photographer Evelyn Cumps who helped keep Orca distracted, giving him attention & treats so I was able to do more of the groom.
After a few hours he started getting antsy so we took a break, we both needed it but I also needed to give another pup a medicated bath before he left for foster.

Orca got lots of attention as we walked the hallways with his funky bushy leg lion cut. He also had a meet & greet with the family who we’re thinking of adopting him.
It only took them a minute to see how sweet calm & wonderful he is and they pre-adopted him.
The next day Evelyn Cumps helped me again but the matting was extremely heavy around Orca’s front legs ears & face & he was going through copious amounts of cheese whiz so I decided it was time for some sedation to help finish the last little bit.
The wonderful medical team sedated Orca & I was able to discover his sweet little face.
