Cinnamon #58932 April 5th 2019

Cinnamon, Coriander, and Cardamom are three small mixed breed dogs brought to MACC as strays by a woman who spotted the three of them tied up to a gate in Central Park. She observed them for about an hour and when no one came to reclaim them she brought them to the shelter.

Cinnamon was surrendered,  and gave birth to a stillborn during the intake process. She was kept in medical overnight for observation and did well. The cause of her losing the pup was likely because of neglect/malnutrition, as she was underweight.

Lucky for Cinnamon she was in the care of the ACC where she received vet care and multiple small meals to help her gain weight and get healthy. Her nails were overgrown as was her hair which was also knotted. With the help of the medical team and some light sedation due to her being fearful I was able to help her out by giving her a much needed nail trim, haircut and bath. She had already been through so much and was very fearful so I felt that she shouldn’t be put through any more stress than needed so some sedation was the best option.

A few days later sweet Cinnamon was pulled by a rescue.
